The Hanohano Outrigger Canoe Club, in association with Shopoutrigger.com, is proud to sponsor the 2026 Hanohano Ocean Challenge. This exciting event, one of the largest and longest-running paddling races in North America, is held in beautiful Mission Bay, San Diego.
Last year, more than 800 paddlers were on hand for this festive spectacle, which features a wide mix of paddlers, from elite athletes to beginners testing the waters. And this year promises to attract even more paddlers and spectators.
Shopoutrigger.com will be on hand to celebrate this spectacle and provide merchandise to all paddlers. The Hanohano Ocean Challenge event launches at 7am, and there’s something for everyone, from ages 7 to 80. This includes OC-1, V1, Surfski, Traditional Paddleboard, Standup Paddleboard, and Kayaks. Racing options include a 4.5 miles short course, a roughly 9-mile long course, a 1000-meter junior race, plus a “virtual 10k,” if you can’t join us in person!
