The 30th Annual Hanohano Ocean Challenge, brought to you by West Coast Paddlesports and ARE Tahiti, will take place at Mission Bay in San Diego on January 25, 2025. It will be one of biggest paddling races in the U.S. with over 700 paddlers converging on Bonita Cove to compete and celebrate this milestone.
This rudderless V1 event will attract top professional paddlers from all over the North America, including Canada and Mexico. Although there are no age-group categories in this race, paddlers of all ages – from 7 to 80-years-old – and all experience levels are encouraged to participate in the 4.5-mile course.
Additionally, there will be separate OC-1, Surfski, traditional paddleboard, standup paddleboard, and kayak events as part of the Ocean Challenge. And there will be a 1000-meter junior race for all types of paddlers, including rudderless V1.
And you’ll want to enter The Hanohano Outrigger Canoe Club’s raffle for a brand new ARE Tahiti V1 canoe after the awards ceremony.
You can pre-register for the event here.
