ARE Tahiti’s commitment to growing the sport of outrigger paddling continues full speed ahead! Next stop: The magnificent blue waters of Kailua Beach Park, on Oahu, Hawaii. This Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, May 5 – 7, ARE TAHITI will host three separate clinics, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, led by Iloha Eychenne. She will help paddlers get up to speed—and then some—in a V6 Matahina, the outrigger canoe of Tahiti’s incomparable Shell Va’a team.
Limit five paddlers per clinic, so sign up now. Iloha will be the sixth, paddling with you every stroke of the way.
Iloha is currently the IVF world sprint champion, a title earned at the 2024 Hilo World Sprints. She also won the Te Aito Tahiti three years running—2022, 2023, and 2024—in a V1. But she also loves the harmony and synergy of team paddling in a V6! When she’s not competing, she’s coaching others to be their very best. You can be one of them.
Besides being an elite paddler, Iloha is also a physical therapist, who stresses optimal posture and technique to prevent injuries. By optimizing posture and technique, she believes one can paddle “smart” without overdoing the need for strength.
