Carve Out Some Time to Learn From a Tahitian Outrigger Champion

At the site where the Columbia River cuts through the Cascade Mountains, nature has carved out one of its most spectacular canyons: The Gorge. It will be the site of the 27th annual “The Gorge 2025,” July 9 through the 12th, the Pacific Northwest’s premier outrigger canoe race.

And this year, there will be an added event, sponsored by ARE TAHITI—an exclusive outrigger clinic taught by Tahiti’s Iloha Eychenne, Monday, July 14, starting at 8:00 am. Iloha is currently IVF world sprint champion, a title earned at the 2024 Hilo World Sprints. She also won the Te Aito Tahiti three years running—2022, 2023, and 2024. When she’s not racing or training, Iloha is sharing her passion for paddling with others, from Bora Bora to The Gorge.

This clinic is part of ARE Tahiti’s ongoing commitment to growing the sport of outrigger paddling by hosting learning opportunities led by world-class paddlers. Sign up now for an opportunity to learn from this world champion paddler and instructor. Space is limited!
