Task Force Hydro1 Mission 50 | May 2nd, 2026 | St. Augustine, Florida
Task Force Hydro1 is on a mission— Mission 50—and ARE Tahiti is proud to be a part of it. For the second year, we’re supporting this inspiring event, which helps some of our most deserving and vulnerable veterans, service members, first responders, and their families.
This 50-mile open-ocean “race” goes from St. Augustine Inlet to Mayport, Florida. But it’s not really a race, more of an Ohana-building event designed to bring people together to support this worthy cause. Every dollar raised promotes the Task Force Hydro1 mission to support mental health and prevent suicide. Paddlers who participate understand the transformative power of water and are committed to raising awareness and funds for the vital mission of Task Force Hydro1. And it is just that. Suicide and cancer rates among military personnel and first responders are alarmingly high, reflecting the toll of service-related stress and exposure.
About the Race
This week-long event kicks off with world-class Tahitian-run clinics, so paddlers can hone their skills. This is followed by an icebreaker BBQ to connect with fellow paddlers and build community. After that, the main event itself! There will be 12 people per canoe, using ARE Tahiti’s fabled V6 Matahina (with additional canoes if needed).
Event coordinators will mix crews among canoes to foster relationships and build Ohana within our community. The event will conclude with a Post-Paddle Celebration, including a dazzling luau, featuring inspiring guest speakers and live music that will leave you energized and connected.
Everyone’s Invited!
Best of all, you don’t need to be a veteran, first responder, service member, or family member to attend. This event is open to everyone, and clubs from near and far are encouraged to participate!
