Under Tepava’s leadership, Shell Va’a has been the most successful 6-man outrigger team in history. Their record includes 13 Molokaʻi Hoe World Championship races—all earned through Tepava’s formula for success: Hard work, mastering technique, feeling the sensation of the ocean, reading the waves, and being in sync as a team.

EMPOWERING PADDLERS AND TEAMS

Now, ARE Tahiti is proud to present David Tepava’s 2-day master clinic. Tepava will share his thoughts, racing experience, and coaching strategies that you can take back to your team or simply use to elevate your own paddling. And you’ll not only absorb David’s wisdom, but also experience his passion for  Va’a and his deep respect for the tradition of outrigger paddling passed down from his ancestors. The goal: To empower paddlers and teams perform at the very highest level.

This 2-day master clinic, limited to 30 seats only, includes:

• Two, 3-hour sessions
• Theory & practice
• History and appreciation of Va’a
• Theoretical training: Equipment (canoe, paddle)
• Technique: Posture, stroke, reach, distance of the blade through the water
• The Spirit & Synchrony of team paddling
• Debriefing and Q&A

ARE Tahiti will provide five 6-man canoes and paddles.
