Since this is the peak time to visit Bora Bora, make your travel reservations early. A small block of discounted rooms are available at the Royal Bora Bora, where you’ll wake up every morning to a complimentary gourmet breakfast you can enjoy in the dining room or café-style seating on the sand. The air-conditioned rooms overlook lush tropical gardens. And after an amazing day of sightseeing and paddling, you can hang out by the pool or bar with your family and friends.
When you arrive, you can reserve your space for a variety of guided group tours, such as:
• Swim with black-tipped reef sharks and stingrays among the coral reefs. Be sure to bring an underwater camera or waterproof case for your phone to prove you did it!
• Hike across Bora Bora for an informative tour of the island’s history and fauna. You’ll enjoy breathtaking, 360-degree views from the highest point on the island.
• Take an Off-road Excursion with a 4×4 or ATV vehicle on steep, mountainous roads that defy gravity.
• Watch fire dancers perform in a traditional ceremony with live music, after a delicious Polynesian dinner.
All while hanging out with a great group of paddlers.
For your convenience, the tour companies will pick you up at the Royal Bora Bora for all these excursions.
Be sure to bring cash for any taxi rides you might want to take into town to explore the markets and go shopping for souvenirs. You can exchange your U.S. dollars for CFP francs at the Faa’a International Airport.
You may stay anywhere you prefer and still take part in the ARE Insider/Talifit excursions. Organizers anticipate the Royal Bora Bora will sell out, so be sure to reserve your room(s) soon by contacting resa@royalbora.pf and mentioning you will be part of the “TALIFIT BORA BORA RACE” to receive your discounted rate. When you make your airline reservations, you may need to stay in a hotel in Tahiti between connections, depending on the timing of flights. Of course, that will give you a chance to explore more of French Polynesia!
It is certain to be the trip of a lifetime.
